Nikki & Kyle are those clients you want. They are fun, easygoing, like to snuggle for the sake of a good photo, and are open to suggestions. They first told me they didn't want to do a first look, but after I sent them my long (but very detailed) list about why I encourage couples to do one, they changed their mind. A lot of couples don't realized that the first look just isn't about that moment of seeing each other. Instead, it's about how you want to spend your wedding day.Read More
Adam and I have known Lizzy since high school, so it was so fun to shoot her wedding! When she reached out about wedding photography, I was honored! We met up last year in Santa Barbara for their engagement session (link below) and strolled through the most amazing cactus garden. Fast forward to their wedding day and they had such a beautiful outdoor wedding in Malibu literally right next to the ocean. It was such a fun day and they even had a surprise 80’s dance band at the reception that all of their guests loved!! Every toast that their wedding party made was so sweet and hilarious, and you could tell that everyone truly loved and supported them.

From the groom Curtis: We met on a college spring break trip in Puerto Vallarta Mexico. Fast forward years later to the proposal on Christmas Day in front of the family. Cynthia opened a giant box filled with balloons that were tied to a ring. As the balloons lifted the ring I got on one knee and asked her to marry me (She said yes). We stumbled upon our venue during a work Christmas party the same year. We loved the feel and atmosphere of the winery. We were drawn in by the inclusive yet spacious indoor/outdoor setup. Beautiful wine barrels and kings tables that gave off a rustic yet elegant vibe. We chose soft neutral colors paired with lots of candles, Edison bulbs, market lights and candle chandeliers to help bring our “rustic elegance” theme to life. Our venue was dressed with beautiful soft neutral and blush toned flowers with a combination of greenery. We used a combination of gold, rose gold, blush and navy for our bridal party. Our ceremony took place in the romantic candle lit barrel room with a surprise mariachi band exit of the bride and groom. We are surrounded by the most fun and loving group of family and friends who all love to dance and party late into the night. Our dj and song list were meticulously picked to cater to nostalgic memories of the bride and groom and keep the dance floor full all night(mission accomplished). Among things served were signature bride and groom cocktail drinks as well as a beer wall serving the grooms favorite local craft brews. All together a night filled with dancing, great food and drinks, lots of memories, and stacks of drunken photo booth pictures. We wanted to give our friends and family a night to remember forever and we couldn’t have asked for anything more.

From the bride Nicole: Sheldon proposed at Justin Winery in Paso Robles in the middle of their vineyard at sunset. As a wedding photographer myself, I have been to many weddings and already had a mental notebook full of ideas! I knew the colors and style I wanted but did not know what venue. We stumbled across the Bel Air Bay Club and instantly fell in love. We set up an appointment and the second we drove up to the property, we knew it was the place for our black tie wedding.
After seeing brides wear Hayley Paige dresses I knew I wanted to try hers on. I found the Gale dress online but it was not released yet to any wedding boutique. With designer dresses, you have to order them so far in advance and I patiently waited on the Gale dress to come in stores. I had JLM call me the second it arrived and I tried it on and loved it just as much as I hoped! It was not a “traditional” wedding dress but I am not a traditional girl and it was perfect!
The color teal works so well with pinks and corals and I went to my florist and friend, Becky of Haute blooms, and told her my vision. Becky was absolutely incredible and took my vision and colors and created the dream arch for us to get married under and the most beautiful bouquets that made me cry when I saw them. Flowers make any wedding pop and it was the perfect way to tie all my colorful elements together.
For Sheldon and I, the ceremony was the most important part. We wanted to have everyone understand our love story and connect with us and our families. Sheldon and I wrote our own vows and there was not a dry eye in the ceremony!
Overall, the day was perfect and I could not have imagined it any other way! :) We had an amazing team of vendors and are so happy we chose Danielle to photograph our day. She captured the color and excitement perfectly!!
