April 5th marked by 5th Danielle Poff Workshop! For the last 3 workshops I've been hosting them at my house, and then the styled shoot portion is at a local venue. This time I picked Ravenswood because I saw so much potential in the ruins area they have. Thanks to the creative minds of Spreading Lovely and Freckled Floral, we came up with a neon vibe, including cascading flowers coming out of the ruins. Adam joined us for the styled shoot to shoot some BTS video footage for me, so check out his video above if you haven't already.

From the coordinator Morgan of Spreading Lovely:

When dreaming up the theme for the shoot, we wanted to ensure we had color, color and more color.  Inspired by the bright and modern elements, we decided to do our own take on a neon themed wedding - mixing the vintage ruins of Ravenswood Estate with contemporary neon pops of yellow, pink, green and orange. Tassels were a secondary accent, incorporated on the invitations, pillows, napkins and bridal bouquet to add a fun boho hint.

By adding floral installations, and simplistic decor elements, we didn't want to edge on being kitschy, but rather, show neon can be used for all kinds of weddings, in many different settings.  Bringing in color to the ceremony, our bride wore a beautiful marigold skirt, and the aisle was adorned with couches for an intimate ceremony feel. Paper goods are always an opportunity to further your palette, so we teamed up with Bowerbird to create ultra fun and bright letterpress invites with neon edges to set the tone for the wedding inspiration. We adorned the modern couches with bright and floral filled neon pillows, again mixing refinement with fun touches.

We believe weddings don't need to be one or the other, so why can't you have an insanely fun color palette, while still keeping the overall design modern and polished? The floral waterfall from the ruin window spilling onto and over the reception table was the main showstopper, elevating the tablescape design, and mixing fun and elegance together. We hope brides will take away an understanding that the sky is the limit when it comes to designing the wedding, and there are endless options to mix unconventional color palettes with different spaces.
