Edna Valley Biddle Ranch Wedding

Nick and Jess walked into our lives about two years ago. I mean that literally, because we ran into Nick in Safeway, without knowing that all of us had moved to Livermore. It’s a friendship by fate, and I know they will be in our life forever. Adam and Nick were both Construction Management majors at Cal Poly, but at the time, their friendship didn’t go beyond the classroom. I really believe things happen for a reason, because right around the time we ran into Nick at the store, Adam was looking for a more local job so he could stop commuting to SF. Crazy enough, Nick’s company in Dublin was hiring and Adam soon joined him. Their friendship grew and Jess and I started referring to them as work husbands! Nick and Jess got engaged around this time and the wedding planning began! Just a few months after becoming friends, they asked us both to be in their wedding . It was a friendship that you could tell would be around for the long haul. They also asked me to be their photographer, which by the time their wedding came around, I had done this double duty three times. We all traveled to Kauai last year where we spent 9 glorious days soaking up sun, eating acai bowls, and taking their engagement photos.  Just a few months later us girls flew to Vegas for Jess’s bachelorette weekend. The trip ended with a call that Nick had been in a go carting accident and had cut off part of his foot. Watching these two stand by each other through sickness and health these last two years has really shown everyone around them that their love and commitment is strong. Adam and I are beyond lucky to call them our best friends and this wedding weekend was one we will never forget! Adam also pulled off a wedding video while being a groomsmen, so make sure to check out his video below!

Check out their Kauai engagement session that I shot while on our vacation there last November!

A few design notes: Nick and Jess designed their own wedding invitations, custom made the wood table numbers and wood names for the seating chart, hand lettered and put together the seating chart and other signage. Jess and her mom made all the macrame hangers that hung above the ceremony space, her mom sewed grey fabric for the runners, and I helped her collect the brass candle stick holders and other pieces of decor as well as helped with some styling. Adam built all 10 guest tables for their wedding to keep with their modern look.
