Erica & Alex's Winery Wedding // Livermore Wedding Photographer and Videographer
From the bride Erica: After 3.5 years attending the same (small) college and never meeting each other once, we eventually had two classes back to back during the last semester of our senior year. We also had a friend in common in those classes (one of our groomsmen!) who made it a point to introduce us- at a bar of course. Instant attraction and the very near future of us both moving away for the next stages of our respective lives (me to Michigan Law School and him to LA with his company) made for what was supposed to be a really fun few months hanging out with no strings attached. Well, here are our wedding photos 6 years later- I guess the original plan didn't work out!
Through long distance, new careers, and moving around California together, we ended up somewhere very different than those college kids would have thought. We live a beautiful life together, love our careers, and have what we believe to be the world's cutest fur baby- our 2 year old pup Riley.
I'm a serious planner, so I started planning the wedding a little bit before the ring was actually on my finger. He agreed to the wedding date, but had no idea how much time I would need to book everything for it! We knew we wanted to get married at a winery (because we met in Sonoma, spent many years wine tasting throughout the region, and are both sincere lovers of good wine) so I spent a lot of time going through venues in Sonoma, Napa, Livermore, and Carmel. I eventually found Nella Terra Cellars- a hidden gem tucked away in the Sunol foothills and we were set. Alex and I both wanted a formal wedding, giving all of our friends and family the rare opportunity to break out their best evening wear. I let my bridesmaids pick out their long black dresses, which turned out stunning on each of them. And chose dark purple as my main pop of color, knowing the venue itself provided enough beauty for the backdrop of it all.
Truly the most important part for us both- we wanted everyone to have a blast, dance all night, and remember our wedding as one hell of a party. Between the open bar and the DJ throwing it back to our high school/early college days, it was definitely a success!
