This post is very special to me, because this lady right here is one of my BFF's and was a bridesmaid in my wedding last year. It's always an honor when my friends ask me to be their wedding photographer. In July 2016, I get to do that AND be a bridesmaid, and I couldn't imagine it any other way :) I love these two, their adventurous spirit, and love for yummy food!
I met up with Vanessa and Daniel in The Village of Arroyo Grande on Saturday. It was a beautiful day, with amazing scenery, and adding this awesome couple to the mix made it complete! We walked up and down the street and went down to the creek as well. Vanessa went and had her hair done that day, and told me she went out and bought a new outfit as well :) A girl after my own heart!! They are such a great couple, who love to laugh and just have fun. I could have kept shooting them forever, because of how comfortable and photogenic they are. They were even down for sitting in a parking lot, when I told them the light was amazing! I can't wait to shoot their wedding in San Luis Obispo this October :) Check out their engagement session which was featured on Lovely Little Details!

They both grew up in the same town, went to the same high school where he was the athlete and she was the cheerleader, had the same friends, and yet their paths never crossed until many years later. After Jocelyn graduated and came back home from college, she was introduced to Brooks through a mutual friend. That night they stayed up late talking and she walked away with butterflies in her stomach. Somehow still, nothing came of this and they went their separate ways. Finally, over a year after that, Brooks asked her to dinner and that was the start of something great. This past November Brooks asked his beautiful girlfriend to be his wife at Melville Winery in Lompoc. This is where we started their engagement session at yesterday, and then decided to hit the road and drive down to the train tracks. We lucked out with some awesome warm weather!! Jocelyn brought along a hand-painted parasol with their last initial M on it as a prop. I love how personalized and unique it is to them! And aren’t they a gorgeous couple?! They totally rocked their engagement session!! I can’t wait for their wedding in September at the Dana Powers House/Barn!
