Courtney & Pat married! Santa Margarita, CA {Spanish Oaks Ranch}

Courtney and Pat are high school sweethearts. They've known each other since they were 14, but didn't become good friends until their junior year of high school. They started dating at the end of that year, right after Courtney turned 17. Because they were such good friends leading up to actually dating, their first date was more of a casual one, or as Courtney said in a joking tone, "It was glamorous". Courtney would say the dinner he took her to, to celebrate her 17th birthday was their first official date. It was at the Elephant Bar, where she ordered chicken fingers, and the bill came to $19. Pat might say their first date was at Taco Bell; they had gone to a Warriors game with a group of friends and went on a group date to Taco Bell afterwards. Courtney's birthday and this Taco Bell adventure happened within days of each other, and little did they know that this was just the beginning of their life together.
For Courtney's 26th bithday, Pat surprised her with a trip to Sonoma for the weekend. They had been to Sonoma together before and after every trip Courtney would always rave about how much she loved it there. They headed out on their weekend getaway and arrived at the Sonoma Mission Inn just before dinner. They went to eat at one of Courtney's favorite restuarants in Sonoma, The Girl & the Fig, where they enjoyed a wonderful, relaxing evening in the Sonoma Square.

Being somewhat suspicious that an engagement might be coming, Courtney started asking questions. "Do my parents know we're here?" Pat's response, "I don't know, did you tell them?" So with that diversion from Pat, she figured it wasn't in the plans. They went back to the hotel and as she opened the door she immediately saw rose petals and candles all over. She walked into their room to find it had been completely decorated while they had been out. Courtney started reading a card Pat had written and as she looked up, Pat was on his knee proposing to her! With much excitement and happy tears, she of course said yes!! They opened a bottle champange, called their parents, and instantly started planning. Yep, the night of the engagement, wedding planning started. The final surprise of the weekend was having both of their families arrive to spend the day with them wine tasting.

After being together for 10 years, Courtney & Pat were married under a beautiful oak tree at Spanish Oaks Ranch in Santa Margarita, CA this past weekend!
