From the groom Chris: It was my first day at a new job. The boss walked me through the halls and introduced me one by one to each of my new coworkers. I met accounting, front desk, HR, marketing, and on and on until I came across the office "relocation specialist" and about broke my neck. She was the most beautiful woman I had ever seen. We were hastily introduced and I stuttered through a dumbfounded "nice to meet you..." I spent the rest of the day in a stupor.
Over the next month I made up excuses to come talk to her. I asked if she could print out all my documents for me (as if hers was the only printer in the office I could use). I stopped by constantly to ask her for a pen or a ruler or a sticky note or white out or any number of things I didn't really need. It was kind of pathetic. Once, when she indicated she liked a huge 6x6 foot blackboard hanging in my office, I took the whole thing down and dragged it to her desk without thinking -- just to be her knight in shining armor. She politely explained that she had no place to put it and so I dragged back. It took me a month to work up the courage to ask her out. I finally did and never let her go.

I met Jonmichael when I moved to Boulder, Colorado from California in the fall of 2005. I could tell, and I was told, that Jonmichael was interested in me but the timing just wasn’t right for us yet. However, we became instant friends. We would spend lots of time together in Boulder and would go snowboarding in the mountains as much as we could. Snowboarding was a common passion and allowed us the time to have fun and bond.
In 2009, I moved to Denver for school and we did not see each other as much as we previously had, we lost touch a bit. In September 2010, on a whim, I called Jonmichael and invited him to come have dinner with me in Denver. I honestly cannot tell you what changed but the timing was right and during that dinner we both realized that our bond was stronger than previously thought and we wanted to pursue a relationship. We began seeing each other all the time and realized that it just worked between us. That following summer we moved to California for Jonmichael’s new job and we have been living together in Folsom ever since with our kitty Moxie.
Jonmichael’s mom, sister, and brother-in-law were visiting us in California and his family members were also meeting my parents for the first time. We had planned for a day of wine tasting in Livermore and unbeknownst to me, but known by everyone else, Jonmichael had plans of his own. We arrived at our first destination, Murietta’s Well. We were tasting the fabulous wine and I remember commenting on how quickly Jonmichael was drinking his first few tastings, I know now that it was for liquid courage! Shortly after, Jonmichael pulled me aside on to the winery’s balcony which over looks the vineyard. We were taking in the view and next thing I know, Jonmichael is down on one knee asking me to spend the rest of my life with him. Tears of happiness filled my eyes and I shouted, ‘YES!’ It was an amazing memory that I am so happy our family was there to witness and share with us.
Aubrey is the older sister of one of my good high school friends, Zach. It's always an honor to photograph engagements & weddings for people I know :) We explored the green hills of Marin County for their engagement session, and boy was it beautiful! I'm already so excited for their wedding in fall of 2015!
