Michelle & Dan's Carmel Valley Wedding // Carmel Wedding Photographers and Videographers

From the bride Michelle: The Central Coast holds a special place in both of our hearts, not just for its natural splendor and stunning views of the California coastline.  When I told Dan that I had never been to Big Sur shortly after we first met (despite me being born and raised just two hours away and going to college at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo!), he decided that I just had to see it for myself.

From the bride:

Our love story started in the beginning of summer 2009, but soon after meeting I was moving to Italy to study abroad. So, Andrew and I became pen pals (on facebook messenger of course) for months after first meeting. That whole summer reminds us of how our love grew from such an innocent summer night to now, 8 years later, 2 dogs and so many travels together. We wanted to recreate that feeling of love, sunshine and playful innocence; making sure that each guest laughed, danced and felt a little bit of that same magic.

Since Andrew and I fell in love in the beginning of summer, and when we think back to that time we can still feel the warm summer air and how innocent life was. That's exactly what we wanted to give our guests - a warm summer evening filled with magical experiences that made you feel like a kid again.  We found this whimsical farm tucked away in the golden hills of Sonoma county, home to tons of donkeys and horses and mini ponies - it brought the perfect touch of fun & playful elements to the elegant white barns & flowers that surrounded the property... but one thing was missing, something different and unique, something that made you remember what it was like to have butterflies - a Ferris Wheel.

We wanted our guests to feel whisked away to a different time and place. SO they started the day on School Buses just like when we were kids, except they'd be going to a surprise destination. Once they arrived they were greeted with warm sunshine, lavender lemonade and flowers lining the white barns scattered around the property. It was important for us to make sure that same love and innocence was felt by everyone, so nothing seemed more sweet than a ride on a Ferris Wheel with the one you love. Then being treated to specialty twinkies paired with a good cocktail, and an acoustic duo playing renditions of the Lumineers & Mumford and Sons. Once cocktail hour ended, we invited guests into one of the small barns we turned into a dinner hideaway, filled with beautiful bright florals, twinkle lights and glowing candles - the barn even had vintage large brick flooring which reminded us of our travels back to the East Coast where I grew up - mix that with those big white barns and it felt perfect. After dinner everyone joined us on the brick patio with bistro lights strung above to dance the night away under the stars.

Freckled Floral Winter Wreath Workshop // Emeryville, CA

From Tara of Freckled FloralThis right here makes my heart skip a beat! I hold workshops so very close to my heart as it combines my two passions; teaching and designing. I receive so much joy out of sharing what I know about design, and watching how others cultivate their own creativity. Our wreath workshop this year took place at the beautiful Studio 1552 in Emeryville. We drank, ate, designed, laughed and created insanely beautiful wreaths by the time we were done.

White Barn Bash at Sand Rock Farms in Aptos //

In case you didn't hear, Adam is now offering wedding videography! We love working as a team and are SO excited about this new adventure :) Check out his video from the White Barn Bash a few weeks ago with Charmed Events and Going Lovely. Today it's feature on The Glitter Guide!

Frances from Charmed Events shares, Our motivation for hosting the White Barn Bash was to build friendship and community with all of the vendors in our immediate region to celebrate the season.  More often than not, we are all friends on instagram and comment and like each others’ posts, but some of us have never met and made that connection with one another in person, that’s the good and the bad of social media.   So we wanted to get a little ol’ fashioned and take the opportunity during the holidays to gather everyone together so that new friendships could be formed and for existing friendships to be celebrated fully.

We reside in an area where there is an abundance of amazing talent in the greater San Francisco region, but we also wanted to shed light on what a special group we have in our immediate area of Silicon Valley.  It was so fun to hear guests say to one another “I didn’t know that you lived here, we’re practically neighbors!  Let’s hang out!” Connections made like that are priceless!

Kelly + Ben Colorful Boho Los Gatos Wedding //

Venue: Redwood Ridge Estate // Wedding coordinator: Two Roads Event Co. // Floral design: Freckled Floral // Dessert: Garden Creamery Ice Cream Truck // Bridesmaids dresses: Show Me Your Mumu // Specialty rentals: Archive Rentals // Makeup: Ashley Rose // Catering: Armadillo Willy's // DJ: Robin Cortez // Videographer: Museville // Rentals: Pleasanton Rentals // Cake: Icing On The Cake // Photo booth: Night Owl Photo Booth // Brides dress: Watters // Brides shoes: Jeffrey Campbell // Suit: J.Crew // Invitations: Minted // Brides hair: Melissa Kohoutek // Film scans by Photovision //

From the bride Kelly: I really love anything bohemian, however I’m a country girl at heart, so we decided to blend the two and I feel that it represented our style very well. When we began the planning process, we both wanted the flowers to be the main focus of the decor and when my photographer and friend Danielle Poff Photography introduced me to Freckled Floral I knew she was my floral soulmate. My advice to other couples planning their wedding is to trust your gut and don't be afraid to step outside the box. it's your day and you want it to represent your personal style.
