Joshua Tree Wedding: Curtis & Maria's Sacred Sands Wedding //

We LOVE Joshua Tree and Palm Springs, so it was so nice to be down there for a wedding a few weeks ago. It was even more special because Adam has known Curtis for a long time. Adam played in a hard core band with his brother Derek, and we went to Cal Poly with Curtis so we saw him a few times during those years. Shooting weddings for people we know is the best! :) Be sure to check out Adam's video above which starts with their pre shoot, and I'll be posting my photos from that soon!

Nick and Jess have become two of our closest friends over the last year. Just last month we all vacationed in Kauai and I knew it was the perfect spot for their engagement session. And now I'm counting down to their October wedding in my other favorite location, San Luis Obispo!

Biddle Ranch Vineyard Boho Glam Wedding // San Luis Obispo wedding photographer

Venue: Biddle Ranch // Planner & designer: Danae Grace Events // Florist: Wilder Floral Co. // Hair & makeup: Jess Wilcox // Gown: Sarah Seven via Moondance Bridal // Bridal accessories: Untamed Petals By Amanda Judge // Speciality rentals: Scout Rentals // Dessert: Paper Cake Events // Paper Goods: Bright Room Studio // Grooms attire: Weddington Way // Rentals: All About Events // Tableware: Borrowed Blu // Dreamcatchers: Dream Keepers // Escort backdrop: If You Give A Girl A Saw // Calligraphy: Rosey Calligraphy // Linens: La Tavola // Film scans: Photovision //

From Danae Grace Events: Inspired by the modern and bohemian Palm Springs flair, we wanted to create a more garden style approach with some refined elements. Using the Pantone Colors of the year as our base color palette we did incorporated more bold tones with the ferns and bougainvillea to brighten up the overall look. We still wanted to use some bohemian elements to pull it all together and the dreamcatchers by Dream Catchers LLC were a perfect touch! We used them as place cards and as the escort display numbers which we hope inspires other brides to consider using them!

If You Gave A Girl A Saw is an up and coming incredible wood worker who created the stunning escort display backdrop. Borrowed Blu aways has the most beautiful pieces and the marble chargers, southwestern plates, flatware and goblets were perfect and tied everything together.

All of the vendors who collaborated did such a beautiful job capturing our vision and we hope this inspires brides who love soft tones but to pull in some pops of colors and out of the box elements.

Our Vacation to Palm Springs

The day after my first workshop, we hit the road and drove south to the desert. Our first stop was Joshua Tree, where we explored, camped, and took a lot of film pictures. Next we headed to Palm Springs where we stayed at the wonderful Ace Hotel. Our dog Sawyer even got to come on our 5 day vacation with us because the Ace Hotel is dog friendly!! We relaxed poolside, ate some yummy food, enjoyed the warm weather, took a lot of pictures, and just enjoyed our time away. I just got my film scans back from Photovision, so now I'm ready to share my favorites from our trip 2 weeks ago :)
